Do you want to be more confident and better prepared in making the case to lawmakers for smarter, more ag-friendly policies, laws, and regulations? Please join DCA's Government Affairs Manager, Grayson Middleton, for a virtual workshop on legislative advocacy. As a Delmarva farmer, your engagement with local and state governments is critical to protecting your livelihood and success. Telling your story to our elected officials can profoundly impact how they view and vote on an issue. Learning about the legislative process and how to advocate in front of legislators will not only be helpful to our organization but will help you convince lawmakers to make decisions on agricultural policy that directly benefit you. You can also use the information in this webinar to advocate for other issues you are passionate about on a school, city, county, state, or federal level. The webinar will include:
- Overview of the legislative process
- How to track legislation
- How to request and facilitate meetings with legislators
- How to write and submit written testimony
- How to testify in committee
This workshop will be part of an ongoing series to educate our members on the "how-to" and importance of legislative engagement. Hearing directly from our members is the most effective way to lobby policymakers, and we hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to protect yourself and advance the causes of our organization.
